The maïs floconnage machine operates by feeding steamed and conditioned maïs kernels through two large, precision-ground rollers. The grain is compressed between the rolls to form uniform flakes. The use of steam conditioning before floconnage softens the kernel, reduces resistance, and allows better flake formation. This process enhances starch gelatinization, increasing feed digestibility in ruminants.
